We want your organization to get the most out of using Amilia. To achieve that goal, we provide helpful blog posts, e-books, and e-mails that walk you through some of our special features and inspire you to use our platform in the best ways possible.

Between trips to the office juicer, our Content Manager Ashley organizes, curates, and creates content that all our clients—from gymnastics clubs to Chambers of Commerce—read to improve their Amilia experience. We asked her 10 questions so you could get to know her better!

Explain your job at Amilia

Capture123-2

I’m part of the marketing team and I work mostly on the content you see on the blog, in e-mails, and on the website. I spend a lot of time trying to get to know our current and potential clients so I can produce content that’s both educational and useful for them.

What was your last search on Google?

I looked up how to make that dessert from Grand Budapest Hotel. I love Wes Anderson movies and I’ve been trying to bake one tricky dessert every weekend--this is my next challenge

What’s the wallpaper on your phone right now?

It’s a picture of my friends and me from a trip we took last weekend. We’re all sitting on the roof of this white minivan we rented. I had someone take it as a joke but it ended up being a really cool picture!

What one thing drives you absolutely crazy?

Styrofoam. I can’t stand the texture and the sound it makes when you’re unwrapping something packed with it. If I buy something that is packaged in Styrofoam (I try to avoid it) I’ll wait until someone else is around to unwrap it. Writing about it is giving me the willies.

What is your TV guilty pleasure?

I wish I could say something cool like Breaking Bad or The Wire but it’s definitely The Real Housewives of _________. I think I’ve seen every city but Beverly Hills is my favorite. I know it’s turning my brain to mush but I can’t kick it.

You enter an eating contest.  What food?

Girl Scout thin mint cookies. I’ll eat a whole box in one day without realizing. Thankfully they only come around once a year.

What word are you guilty of using too often?

Not a word in particular but I’m definitely guilty of shortening words like “perf”, “fab” and “fave”. For some reason, I have an aversion to syllables.

What’s your favourite thing about working at Amilia?

The environment is so conducive to learning and growing. I’m constantly learning new things from the people around me. A couple weeks ago Kim taught me how to use Photoshop. I created a picture of a pink pug surrounded by stars and laser beams...it was magical.

Oh, and I get to bring my dog to work with me!

What's your favorite Amilia feature?

It’s not a glamorous one but I really love the attendance list feature. It’s customizable and you can use any fields from the registration forms. As someone who spent a couple summers as a camp counsellor, I really would have found it helpful to have a list of campers with their specials needs, allergies, or injuries on hand.

Pick one: Bacon or Nutella

This one is easy. Nutella! I have a serious sweet tooth so sugar always trumps salt.
