Explain your job at Amilia

Helping customers out when they’re in a tight spot, educating them on how to use the Amilia interface and making their lives easier in general!

If you were an animal, which one would you be?

To be honest, the prospect of being an animal, unless you’re domesticated (and in responsible hands) is a stressful one, UNLESS you’re at the top of the food chain. So I’d go either with an eagle (which has very few predators) or a shark (same thing). They both have little worries in terms of being eaten, and they both get a feeling, I can only guess, of freedom by being able to move freely in a 3D environment. I feel like both environment (sky and sea) have a lot to offer in terms of beauty and freedom.

What is your favorite series of the moment?

"Dragon Ball Super." "Dragon Ball" fans have been dying for an official sequel for years, and Toei Television has finally delivered! The animation is nice, and it’s cool to see old characters brought back and given new life. Been following it since it started, and I can’t wait for the next episode to come out (Saturday!).

Choose: cat or dog?sebastien-1.jpg

Dogs, all the way. I connect with dogs a lot better than with cats. I like how they connect well with their families and with kids and how they’re playful and caring. I’ve spent a while training my dogs, and while it’s pretty time consuming and tiring, it pays off quite nicely.

What do you think is the most useful mobile application?

I use Transit all the time to optimize my transfers and my time, everywhere. I like how it’s useful pretty much everywhere around: Montreal, south shore, Québec, Toronto, etc.

What’s your favorite thing about working at Amilia?

I like to make people happy and make them smile. I’ve always been about customer satisfaction and loyalty. To be honest, not all companies, despite what they say, actually embrace that philosophy and use the means to deliver a quality product, as well as quality service. Here at Amilia, I’ve seen so many things like transparency towards customer, or small features that have been implemented after customers asked for them (it’s all in the details, people!). it proves that

the customer is number one here. And this makes me happy, it g

ives meaning to the job, and makes it so much easier and fun to do.

What is your dream travel destination?

Wow, there are so many places I want to go. I’ve never really traveled before, so… what I want to experience isn’t about beaches and sun bathing. I want to learn about other cultures, I want to know how they live elsewhere, and I want to see historical scenes. So there’s quite a few European countries I want to see for their historical value, but I would also like to visit countries where things are done (and thought) entirely differently from the North American mentality that I know, such as India, Japan or Mongolia. But it’s really hard to choose just one.

Three words that define you:

Curious (I need to understand how things and people work, so I ask questions or question everything).

Talkative (if you can get me started, you’re going to have a hard time stopping me).

Passionate (about some specific things, or against some specific things too).

Nutella or peanut butter?

Peanut butter. Nuts To You organic crunchy peanut butter, specifically. I’ve been eating it every single morning for years. Every other peanut butter I get tired of after a while, but this one is the best, by far.

What is your favorite ice cream flavor?

Mint and chocolate chips. Specifically the President’s Choice brand, which has both chocolate and mint-flavored ice cream (and the mint flavor isn’t subtle), with huge chunks of chocolate. I like having to dig through my ice cream with a shovel. I don’t want soft ice-cream, I need to be able to chew on it.

Do you enjoy the Montreal winters?

I love winter. Not only do I love the cold, but I love everything that is related to it. I love the smell of the cold fresh air in the morning, I love snuggling into warm blankets when it’s cold and having a hot cocoa. I love playing in the snow with my kids and dogs. And to top it all, I don’t deal well with heat, so all in all, cold and snow is my thing.
