Thanks to our solid team of Developers, we're constantly amping up our platform to respond to your club, school, or studio's needs. Meet Michael, he's joining our Amilia crew to fix those pesky coding bugs and create bigger and better features for our platform. We asked him 10 questions so you can get to know him better!
Explain your job at Amilia
I’m a Developer. I work on improving existing features and adding new ones to Amilia.
What was your last search on Google?
Taytweets twitter. Microsoft just made a twitter account that was an A.I. chat bot, it responded to tweets and learned from other conversations. Of course in less than a day people figured out how to exploit it and make it say a bunch of terrible things, creating a PR nightmare for Microsoft.
You enter an eating contest. What food?
Pizza! When you’re home alone and you order so much that you try to convince the delivery guy that there’s another person home you know you’re ready for the eating contest.
What is your TV guilty pleasure?
The Office (US), at least up until Steve Carell left the show. It doesn’t sound like much of a guilty pleasure but I think it qualifies because of the amount of times I’ve seen it, which I don’t care to admit. I know every episode pretty well, no reference will ever go over my head.
What’s your favourite Amilia feature?
It’s not a specific feature but I really like the convenience of being able to see all of the activities an organization offers and being able to easily sign up to the ones I want from home.
Pick one: Bacon or Nutella?
Bacon, but no weird artificially flavoured bacon stuff please.
What word are you guilty of using too often?
At work I use the word suspicious a lot. Looking at code I haven’t seen before, seeing weird behaviour when testing something, or looking at a bug that can’t be reproduced? You’ll probably hear me using the word suspicious too much.
What’s your favourite thing about working at Amilia?
Choosing your projects based on your interests. Dogs in the office is also nice.
What’s your favorite app?
Telegram, it’s how I chat with most of my friends. It has great apps for Android and iOS plus a desktop version so it’s easy to keep in touch no matter what device you’re using.
